The Online Quote System will ask you some questions about the type of data that you can provide us, and will give you the opportunity to tell us under what parameters you would like your job simulated. Remember that the quality of the CAD data provided and the input parameters specified will determine the accuracy of the generated outputs. Do you have 3D die face data? Above is an example of 3D die face data. It is the data of the tooling faces that a toolmaker would machine, to make part of a sheet metal stamping tool. If you supply this type of data, we will simulate your die face design exactly as you would machine it. It is only necessary to supply one half of the tool face, for example, the punch side. This is because simulation will offset the other side automatically. Supplying this type of data is the most cost effective option and returns the quickest results. Select the type of data you can provide: Supply any one of these four types data for your simulation job. Your data will be used to create tooling surfaces (die face data) for simulation purposes. Basically, we will use your product design data to create tooling surfaces to design and simulate a forming process. | This is an example of part design geometry in 3D | This is an example of complete 3D strip design with all fillets | | This is an example of tool design drawings in 2D | This is an example of part design drawings in 2D | Select the material standard to be used: There are many types of sheet metal and grades usually, specified by standards set in each country of manufacture. Always chose the closest possible match to the material specified for your part. If you can not find your material grade or type listed here, be sure to select "I do not know / Other" and supply as much information about the material as you can, in the "Additional Information" box. Select the material thickness (in millimeters) to be simulated: Please specify the material thickness for the part. Even if thickness is shown in the part's data, please confirm the thickness value again here. If your thickness is in an increment of 0.05mm please round up to the nearest 0.1mm Select the number of forming processes to be simulated: Please enter the number of forming processes (or operations) you need simulated. For example, the pictured process (above) uses six operations HOWEVER there are only TWO forming processes. Therefore, enter TWO (2) in this box What shape is the blank? Example of blank shapes Select the type of process to be simulated: Please specify only the MAIN forming process to be simulated. This is an example of a crash form tool. This is an example of a draw form tool. Additional Information: For example, if you have specified the number of gas springs you will use and know the total binder force, you would provide that information in the "Additional Information" box. However, you can provide any additional information that you feel is relevant in this area.
