(PRWEB) August 6, 2006 — With most of the automotive industry fraught with mountains of debt, unproductive factories, and high costs; suppliers are feeling the pinch. In an industry first, StampingSimulation.com is enabling small to medium sized tooling companies to obtain the same technical advantages that the large Japanese auto makers have had for years.

Until now, manufacturers of stamped (or pressed) sheet metal parts (like car body parts) had to use their experience and knowledge to “best guess” die designs. It was never certain whether a part would split, wrinkle or springback - all of which are a toolmaker’s worst nightmare. This was the “try and see” method.

StampingSimulation.com allows tool designs to be proven virtually, on a computer before any tool steel is cut and saves costly re-works which could occur after the tool is finished. Many major automotive companies are now insisting that their suppliers provide simulations of their die designs before awarding the job.

Business founder and lead engineer, Tim Bliesner says: “Customers need only provide a CAD model of their part to StampingSimulation.com and we provide them back a complete set of die face data, including a fully developed blank shape, binder surface and addendum surfaces.”

The industry is waking up to simulation technology, with more and more businesses embracing this new technology. “People are starting to wake up to the benefits that forming simulation can bring”, says Mr Bliesner. “Problems solved in the engineering phase of the project can avoid costly re-work later on”.

Customer comments confirm the success of StampingSimulation.com:

Comments from a contract tool designer: “I sent the AVI files [simulation results to my customer and asked him to split the cost. There was no hesitation. He likes it.”

The words of another tool designer: “I am convinced that your working with me will kick my value of design up a notch.”

And from another tool designer: “I am very excited that my slow to technology customer, is embracing your work…This will make him very happy.”

From a toolmaker in Europe: “I really think you are doing a good job…I will demonstrate that this kind of simulation is very useful to avoid many real tests in the workshop and give us the possibility to go straight to a better tooling solution.”

And from yet another tool designer: “I am convinced you saved my customer thousands of dollars. Thanks again.”
